Inserting a bridge

We will show you one of the very many situations that take place regularly in the Clinic.  Bear in mind that every case requires its own study and personalised treatment.


In the case presented, we will avoid technical details in order to try and give a clear and intelligible idea of this treatment.

Patient with a tooth missing and poor position of another.A third with great movility  and another with caries.

With x-rays we confirm the state of the roots and the bone.
In our patient, we can see that the first premolar is not recoverable and
it will be necessary to extract it.
The bridge will be supported by the two adjacent teeth.

After carrying out root canal treatment on the two teeth and inserting a “bolt” to add solidity to the “stumps”, the teeth are “shaped” and prepared for the next steps

During the time it takes to prepare the prosthesis, the patient will wear a provisional “bridge”.
The laboratory sends the “structure sample”.  It is the metallic base that is adapted to the tooth and supports mastication strength.

After the structure sample, the ceramic is inserted.  This is the material that provides us with a similar aesthetic to natural teeth.

As well as replacing the missing teeth and modifying the pre-existing anomalies in position, we manage to normalise the masticatory function.
